Eventuri carbon intake for BMW X5 M50i (G05) / X6 M50i (G06)

Description

Introducing our X5 G05 M50i intake. This intake is an adaptation of our X5M intake which was a complete redesign of the stock airboxes with the aim of reducing pressure loss whilst increasing flow and keeping intake temperatures low. With the stock cold air feeds at the front of the car and the turbo inlets facing the rear of the car, the airflow has to negotiate a 180 degree turn through each airbox, resulting in flow restriction. To overcome this we have introduced an additional cold air feed from the cowl panel, resulting in a more direct flow path to the turbo inlets. The additional feeds allow the intake to have a higher flow whilst keeping IATs low and have the added benefit of de-restricting the turbo sound. With the intake openings now facing the cabin, the turbo throbbing and pressure release sounds are clearly audible, elevating the driving experience to another level.

The Eventuri difference

The X5 M50i’s Eventuri system uses our patented carbon fiber housings with our custom Gen 2 filters, which provide an aerodynamically efficient airflow path from the filter to the turbos. This is not just another cone filter with a heat shield, but a unique design that invokes the Venturi effect and maintains laminar flow conditions to reduce drag on the turbo.
