The APR Carbon Fiber Open Air Intake System is the ultimate upgrade for 1.8T/2.0T engines! We've dramatically improved performance and sound by reducing pressure drop and increasing airflow. The result: more horsepower and torque, and less stress on the turbocharger. This system delivers a stunning look, a captivating sound, and noticeable power and torque gains. Our beautiful carbon fiber intake system abandons the traditional closed airbox in favor of a massive 7-inch (18 cm) washable and reusable cotton filter with a front inlet and a 4-inch (10 cm) rear outlet. This design was essential to minimize pressure drop in the stock system and maximize airflow, while still allowing you to fully hear the engine breathe! The oversized filter ensures optimal filtration. Thanks to its significantly increased surface area, we minimize pressure drop without compromising filtration. Carbon fiber, in addition to its aesthetic appeal, allows us to design a complex and organic heat shield that channels hot air from the intake duct through the front radiator. Furthermore, carbon fiber allows us to reduce the thickness of the intake duct wall, thus maximizing its internal diameter and, consequently, airflow. Finally, carbon fiber retains less heat than other materials, such as metal, making it ideal for optimizing performance.
