RacingLine Higher Output Ignition Coils are a direct plug-and-play upgrade to your stock ignition coils. Whether your engine is stock or tuned to Stage 3, it will immediately benefit from the increased power output and stronger, more consistent spark generated by a set of RacingLine coil packs.

>RacingLine Higher Output Ignition Coils provide a 10% increase in output energy over stock. This higher output is perfect for drivers looking to maximize the performance of their stock or modified car.

> Why did we opt for a 10% gain in output energy for our ignition coil packs? Because this is the optimum level of increase for VWG TSI engines. Beyond this, no additional benefit is gained, but internal coil temperatures start to rise sharply.

> So at this level our coil packs can maintain coil voltage under load with little to no drop, operating consistently from idle to the shift point or redline.

> Replacement is especially valuable on older engines that are still using the original coil packs. A new set is a great preventative maintenance upgrade to avoid the risk of misfires caused by the ageing and gradual failure of the original coil packs. Installation couldn't be simpler. It's a simple plug and play replacement. Remove the OEM coil packs, replace them with our higher output versions.

The function of the ignition coil pack is to transform the 12-volt output of the car battery into a much higher voltage. This intensified electrical energy provides a more reliable source for your spark plug to operate, thereby improving engine performance by igniting the fuel and air mixture more efficiently.

We have spent a large portion of our development time optimizing the energy levels of the ignition coil pack to ensure operating temperatures are controlled. Throughout the lifecycle of our ignition coil pack, this thermal management will help prevent future failures.

Coil packs that generate more than 10% over stock will overheat and deteriorate over time. We have increased the power generation gain to a level that will keep the coils as cool as possible for as long as possible.

This level of increase represents the “sweet spot” of diminishing returns in the amount of additional energy that can benefit spark strength versus rapidly increasing internal temperatures for long-term reliability and performance.
