The Alpha N bonnet of the BMW G8X M3 and M4 is made entirely of carbon fibre with an additional layer of Kevlar inside, which ensures stability.

Taking inspiration from the M4 GT3 race car, this vented carbon hood weighs 40% less than the original. While BMW used aluminum to keep the factory hood as light as reasonably possible for a production car, the Alpha N hood weighs just 7,7 kilos compared to 12,7 kilos for the original hood.
