Freshly developed at AIRTEC's UK headquarters, we are proud to launch our ultimate specification intercooler kit with an integrated crash bar design aimed at owners of modified Toyota Yaris GRs who desire the highest levels of cooling efficiency and performance for track or fast road use.

The problem
Our previous Stage 1 intercooler was developed for the modified GR Yaris of the time and became a popular option. However, the modification potential of the GR Yaris has since evolved and it became clear that we needed a more capable intercooler package that would better suit powerful and heavily modified cars, while also future-proofing them for future modification developments.

The solution
So we developed the largest heat exchanger kit possible and maximized the available space behind the bumper with a stepped design that rises behind the entire grille. Using our experience in developing heat exchanger kits that incorporate a replacement crash bar, we were able to CNC machine billet brackets to bolt the heat exchanger on. As a result, the new heat exchanger offers a massive 143% increase in overall capacity over the stock heat exchanger (54% more than our Stage 1 kit), and also features a whopping 115% increase in frontal area over the standard version (78% more than our Stage 1 kit), allowing it to optimize the airflow delivered.

Paired with our high-flow, one-piece cast tanks to ensure flow is directed correctly and efficiently, the Stage 3 AIRTEC Motorsport intercooler also features an enlarged 60mm inlet to match the outlet, and together the kit offers far greater efficiency and volume than standard and Stage 1 intercoolers, which has been proven in testing.

Available with a high quality powder coated black finish, this complete kit is a direct replacement and comes with Pro Hoses silicone fittings to fit standard boost pipes. Alternatively, you can opt for our optional, great value boost pipe kit. It also comes with all fittings and fixtures, along with detailed fitting instructions.

Reviews
During track testing at Snetterton Circuit in the UK using our 420hp AIRTEC Motorsport development car, we recorded the inlet and outlet temperatures of our Stage 1 and Stage 3 intercoolers back to back.

The figures showed that at this high power level, during a fast lap, the Stage 1 struggles to maintain a stable charge temperature, with a range of 15 degrees, which is a testament to its difficulty in withstanding sustained high boost pressures. However, with the Stage 3 intercooler, the figures showed that the larger core and increased airflow allowed for a much more consistent charge temperature throughout the test, with a temperature range of just 5 degrees.

Verdict: Both intercoolers demonstrate a high level of efficiency, reducing charge air temperatures by over 200 degrees and equating to over 90% efficiency, but the Stage 3 could maintain this level for longer, which is crucial for highly tuned cars to operate safely for extended periods.
