Fitment for RS3 8Y, left and right hand drive. Raw carbon finish – no clear coat.

Introducing our full carbon RS3 turbo intake elbow for the 8Y version. The elbow is the same as the original one developed for the 8V but with additional mounting hardware for the new breather system found on the North American 8Y engines. The rest of the world uses the same intake as our current 8V package. We invested months of intense research and development to develop an intake that leaves no room for compromise. VOLUME – FLOW QUALITY – TEMPERATURE were the parameters we were looking to optimize for this intake.
1) VOLUME: Inlet Diameters – Eventuri 103mm: 72mm stock. Outlet Diameters – Eventuri 74mm: 56,4mm stock. Obviously, with significantly larger internal diameters, the Eventuri elbow encapsulates a much larger internal volume which frees up the flow path to the turbo.
2) FLOW QUALITY: Large internal volume is not enough unless the flow path also allows for smooth airflow to the turbo. By using high temperature pre-preg carbon fiber, we have achieved a smooth internal surface. In contrast, stock and other aftermarket elbows are all made from cast aluminum, which results in a rough internal surface. This, combined with the smooth curvature of the elbow, results in a flow path that minimizes turbulence.
3) TEMPERATURE: The final criteria was to minimize heat conduction into the airflow. The stock intake is directly connected to the turbo and therefore immediately conducts heat when the turbo spins. Our system uses a machined flange that connects to the turbo and then a silicone coupler with an integrated thermal spacer to prevent the carbon elbow from having direct contact with the turbo. This barrier, combined with the low thermal conductivity of carbon fiber throughout its thickness, allows for less heat to be transferred to the airflow.
