As part of our expanding BMW product range, AIRTEC Motorsport is proud to launch our enlarged turbo intake upgrade for the S55 engine equipped with hybrid turbos.

A direct replacement part offering increases in performance and responsiveness, the enlarged turbo inlets feature a freer-flowing design with an increased internal diameter, which is essential when fitting hybrid turbos.

How it works

The stock airbox elbows are made of plastic and gradually decrease in diameter from 80mm to just 54mm, then to 41mm at the turbo inlet. While this is sufficient for standard turbo cars, with more air-hungry hybrid turbos, the stock elbows can create an unnecessary restriction that impedes airflow when making power.

Our AIRTEC Motorsport direct replacement intakes have been designed in-house to feature pipework that tapers very smoothly down to 64mm in diameter when it reaches the turbo inlet, removing stepped restriction and allowing the maximum amount of internal flow, with increases of nearly 35% over standard.

The elbow upgrade includes piping for the front and rear turbos and includes all accessories and fittings.

PLEASE NOTE: We recommend that these items are fitted at the same time as the hybrid turbos and therefore do not provide fitting instructions for this product.
