What is the turbo intake system used for?

The Racingline Turbo Intake System for the 245PS and 207PS MQB 'EVO' cars such as the Golf 8 GTI is a matching package of our much larger diameter, free-flowing Turbo 90 Intake combined with a reinforced silicone Turbo Intake Hose for a much higher airflow between the intake and the turbo.

The factory intake forces airflow through the restrictive plastic bellows pipe, before narrowing down to pass through a narrow, restrictive plastic turbo intake – in other words, terrible for flow.

The Racingline Turbo Intake System replaces this piping with a larger diameter, free-flowing silicone hose coupled with a larger diameter, thin-walled, free-flowing intake elbow.

The internal diameter of the Turbo 90 intake is significantly increased, going from 62,5 mm on the factory part to 76 mm.

It was by combining the two parts of the kit that we were able to enlarge the diameter of the inlet and the pipe so much – and thus give the maximum possible gains.

In short, without this turbo intake system, you would be wasting much of the potential of your high-flow intake system. A vital improvement!
