Looking at the B58 engine in the M140i/240i/340i/440i engine bay, it’s clear that BMW has left some room to modify the intake tract. The resonator and accordion ribs cause significant turbulence in the airflow, which is detrimental to the engine’s potential performance. Removing them and replacing them with a five-layer silicone construction gives you a host of performance upgrades, including:
